BRING TOGETHER / UNITE

THE PURPOSE OF THE SMC

One of the key priorities of the SMC is to promote mutual support and cooperation between Cognac houses. Multiple work groups and focus groups offer opportunities to discuss and share experiences for everyone’s benefit on topics such human resources, safety, the environment and vineyards.

We also organise events, webinars and conferences to develop knowledge and understanding of the challenges facing Cognac houses, from markets to geopolitical issues.

BUILD INFLUENCE

COGNAC PRODUCERS ARE PARTICULARLY COMMITTED TO THEIR ORIGINS WHICH START AT HOME, IN THE CHARENTE AND CHARENTE MARITIME DEPARTMENTS AND EXTEND ACROSS THE NOUVELLE-AQUITAINE REGION AND FRANCE.

From here, they showcase Cognac around the world; a local product with significant influence. Their development is closely linked to the region, to local residents and to its institutions. We create and maintain partnerships with other professional organisations locally (BNIC, UGVC), nationally (FFS, UMVIN, FEVS) and internationally (Spirits Europe). We also work closely with organisations such as the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) and the Union Patronale employers’ association, as well as other local and national institutions.
